Effective representation, personal service

Serving clients on the Eastside, in Seattle & throughout King County

Bio and Background

I was raised by hard working entrepreneurial parents in the quiet community of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, about 22 miles west of Chicago.  After high school, I served five years in the enlisted ranks of the U.S. Navy as a jet engine mechanic working on P-3A/B, KC-130H and UH-1 "Huey"  aircraft.

I received a B.S. in Marketing from Northern Illinois University in 1987, and after spending several years working at my father's fastener manufacturing plant in Carol Stream, Illinois, moved to the Seattle area in May, 1990.  Soon after two very short stints as a managerial level employee, I started a small manufacturer's rep agency in 1991 that later developed into ICG Corporation, an industrial and electrical fastener supply wholesaler.

After several years of driving the small company, I wanted less of a managerial role in a static industry and more of an active role in a dynamic one - which the legal field truly is - and by 2002, I was making preparations for a third career.  I was admitted to Seattle University in the Summer of 2004 and attended classes part time evenings year-round while running ICG during the day.  ICG was sold in late 2007, and I graduated with my law J.D. at the end of 2008.

I was fortunate enough to obtain an internship/externship and work with two outstanding attorneys at a small law firm on Capitol Hill from 2008-2009 before starting my practice at the end of 2009.

Client Philosophy

The need to seek out and hire an attorney arises out of what are often uncomfortable and sometimes embarrassing situations.

When you hire me, my primary objectives are to act effectively as an advocate on your behalf and obtain the best possible outcome for you within the boundaries of the law.   I also know the importance of having a good 'fit' in the lawyer-client realtionship.

As the client, you want effective representation by an attorney who recognizes these objectives as well.  You also want your attorney to communicate completely with you; to return your calls or emails as promptly as possible, and to respond to your concerns or explain foreign legal concepts in plain language.

I get it.  I know how to respond to the needs of each person on an individual basis, and I think you'll get a sense of that from the first time we talk.
